From Blah to Bliss Fighting Relationship Fatigue

Hey there ladies, let’s talk about something we all experience at some point in our long-term relationships – feeling tired or bored of our partners. It’s like one day, everything is sunshine and rainbows, and the next, we’re just going through the motions and experiencing a full blown relationship fatigue. But don’t worry, it’s completely normal, and there are things we can do to keep the spark alive.

According to the Coolidge Effect or Novelty Theory, we humans tend to get excited and aroused by new things. This can explain why we might start feeling like our relationships are in a rut. But just because it’s natural doesn’t mean we have to accept it.

Talk About Your Relationship Fatigue

First off, communication is key. You and your partner should be able to talk openly about your feelings and needs. It’s important to make sure you both feel heard and appreciated. Don’t be afraid to speak up and express what you need to be happy in the relationship.

Mix Things Up A Bit!

Trying something new together can reignite that spark. Maybe it’s trying out a new restaurant, going on a weekend getaway, or even taking up a new hobby together. Whatever it is, experiencing something new and exciting can help keep things fresh.

Me Time

Taking some time apart can be beneficial. Spending time with friends or pursuing your own interests can help you reconnect with yourself and your own desires. This time apart can also help you appreciate your partner more when you do spend time together.

Get Physical Purposefully

Don’t forget about the romance! Having a healthy sex life is important in any relationship. If you’re feeling disconnected, try to rekindle that flame. Plan a special night together or engage in some playful activities to help bring back the passion.

Appreciate The Good Things

Show gratitude for your partner. Letting them know you appreciate them and all they do can go a long way in keeping your relationship strong. And remember, it’s important to prioritize self-care and not neglect your own happiness and fulfillment in the relationship.

As women, we can face societal pressures to prioritize our partner’s needs above our own. But by practicing open communication, keeping things fresh, taking time apart, rekindling the romance, showing gratitude, and prioritizing self-care, we can strengthen our relationships while also maintaining our own happiness and fulfillment. So don’t let feeling tired of your partner get you down. Keep the love alive!
